Mission
The gym’s mission has always been to bring people closer together through fun and challenging obstacles. I use obstacles loosely now because it’s so often also our own mental barriers. I didn’t expect how seamlessly this place has become a gathering space for people who just need people. It happened by accident but I want to cultivate it on purpose.
This means having community nights, board games, physical games, pot lucks, beginner bring a friend classes. We can create these times and spaces together and have community members run these events! Want to have a crochet night? We have space for that, want to teach your first class on self defense or singing? We have space for that.
WE are blessed with this large building and all the rooms that we can share in. How can we utilize it for even more connection?
Variety of Classes (So many activities)
We have so many mini communities here from Tumbling, Handstands, Acro, Parkour, etc. Having community times will allow overlaps and to make it one home. My favorite part of everything here is that I don’t have just one obsession. I want to do it all and every class I take helps my other classes and skills.
Networking (Help me donate!)
I want to donate more of our time and specialties. This month we are going as heroes to Shriners Hospital, and hosting a fundraiser for a school who lost their building, and donated $1,000 of services to a raffle at Echo.
I love giving and showing what we do. I do as much of it for Free as possible but I want to do more. I need two things for this, connections and people. Trying to meet like minded organizations and people can be hard! I’ve been trying to donate classes, birthdays, etc but sometimes it’s hard to connect with the right people and organizations. I believe if you know someone a school club, a queer knitting club, or a star wars historic battle reenactment club who is doing a fundraiser we want to give them services to auction off! We don’t have funds to donate yet but we do have time and energy (Arguably way more valuable). Maybe you just know a community person in a rough spot who could use a win? Let us support in the way we can and invite them to join us.
This is a tidbit of what’s to come now. I want to hear what you think would be great for us!
